  • Fissta welcomes new Minister White to the wild Atlantic salmon world

A new broom sweeps clean at the dept of communications, energy and natural resources this evening as civil servants queue up to brief him in salmon and Gweebarra matters. Hopefully, some new changes favourable to protecting the salmon resources of Ireland will be made by this new minister as Pat Rabbitte TD or Fergus O’ Dowd Td did not take action for their entire 3 years. As a barrister, FISSTA hope that Minister White will resolve the 2006 dispute and decide for himself not to waste anymore money on taking our voluntary anglers and his customers to court. Fissta Have high expectations and demand that the fisheries of this country are immediately put back in order now.
